Diego Torres Bio

Hi! My names is Diego Torres and I'm currently attending Cal State East Bay studying English as my major. What I specifically plan to do with it remains to be seen but I know for sure I would want to dabble in the creative ways of English or just working a regular business job, being a PR for a big corporation. Either way, I would want to work in English in some sort of capacity!

Growing up, I would always write stories ripping off some big blockbuster movie and make it my own in some creative fashion. Now as I've gotten older (and wiser), I have now created some of my own original stories with some unique twist that I am now proud to display here in my portfolio. Being creative in my stories has led me to taking photography and has even led me to directing a film, all of that possible because writing stories! It has also led me out of my shell throughout the years. I played in my high school band senior year, became an officer for the prestigious Puente program to now where I am currently an officer for the English Majors Club and now the Social Media Manager for Occam's Razor at Cal State East Bay! Writing has really opened a lot of doors for me and I know it will continue opening them for me as long as I pursue it.

 

Much of what I write about are a combination of personal experience and inspirations I've seen in different forms of media. From books to movies to video games and weirdly enough, music! These stories I put out are not only because I want to express my creative side, but to tell unique stories that the public hasn't seen. I always want to be creative with my stories and I always take a while creating them, because I don't want to rush out perfection! Much of my stories are nonfiction but as of right now I am expanding my horizon to poetry, nonfiction and fantasy/cyberpunk/scifi genres.

In my spare times I am usually playing video games, currently Cyberpunk 2077, reading, for example finishing up the Dune saga, working, spending time with family and watching movies.
